Dear RISE Academy Families, Salaamun Alaikum wa rahmatullah wa barakaatuh,
It has been an absolute privilege welcoming our students back for the new academic year. From our very first morning, the campus has been revitalized by the vibrant energy, laughter, and enthusiasm of our students, and our faculty has greeted students with the utmost care. Thanks to the exceptional dedication and collaboration of our staff, students, and families, we have achieved a highly successful and seamless reopening. This positive momentum carried us directly into our annual Mercy Week celebrations—a profound experience that brought immense joy to our campus while honoring the character, mercy, and enduring example of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
In my inaugural address to the student body, I emphasized that our students remain at the center of all our educational endeavors. As leaders and educators, our primary mission is to serve, listen to, and support them. We are fully committed to cultivating an environment where every student feels recognized, valued, and inspired to achieve excellence.
The past three weeks have been marked by significant academic progress and community milestones across all divisions:
- Standardized Assessments: Students completed the NWEA assessments. Individual reports will be distributed soon, InshaAllah.
- Early Childhood Education (ECE): Our youngest learners have transitioned beautifully into their routines through engaging, hands-on activities.
- Lower School: Students are actively participating in “Focus Fridays,” which emphasize experiential, project-based learning.
- Upper School: Extracurricular clubs and house systems are officially underway. Our recent induction ceremony successfully welcomed new students into their respective houses, fostering a strong sense of community and belonging.
As I officially step into my new role, I am profoundly moved by the unity and compassion that defines the RISE community. While we represent a rich tapestry of diverse cultural backgrounds, we are seamlessly united by our shared values and deep reverence for Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and the Ahlul Bayt (as). This foundation of faith and support is one of our institution’s greatest strengths.
We highly value our partnership with parents/guardians and look forward to connecting with you at our upcoming campus events. These gatherings offer vital opportunities to collaborate, and strengthen the link between home and school.
May Allah (swt) continue to bless our students, families, faculty, and staff and grant us guidance as we work collaboratively to ensure every child learns, grows, innovates, and rises.
With gratitude and warm regards,
Dr. May Issa
Head of Institute
Snapshot of what happens at RISE:
Week of Mercy and Milad Un Nabi Celebrations
Alhamdulillah, we kicked off the 26-27 academic year with the blessed occasion of Milad un Nabi. Our students spent a wonderful week celebrating through engaging activities and reflection. Here are a few photos capturing some of those joyful moments.

Early Childhood Education (ECE) – Sand Writing Fun!
Our preschoolers had a wonderful time exploring sand writing! This activity provides an engaging way for them to practice forming letters and words while developing their fine motor skills. It is lovely to see their excitement, creativity, and confidence as they learned through play!

Lower School – Kindergarten Class
Alhamdulillah, the KG class had the wonderful opportunity to welcome Moulana Abidi to their classroom recently. He spent meaningful time connecting with the children, asked them about their names, and explained the meanings of some of their names. Together, they also recited Surah Al-Hamd. Moulana’s visits to classrooms are always a memorable and joyous occasion for students.

Upper School – 7th Grade Life skills: Hand Sewing
In our first Life Skills segment for the 2026-2027 school year, 7th grade students learned the fundamentals of hand sewing—from threading a needle and tying knots to learning basic stitches and completing simple projects.
Sewing is a practical everyday skill that builds patience, focus, fine-motor coordination, creativity, and problem-solving. It also teaches students the value of repairing, reusing, and caring for the things they own rather than always replacing them.
